Kerry Express Thailand, a division of Kerry Distribution Thailand Limited, is revolutionizing distribution in Thailand, with its mission of “Do it better and cheaper”.
The company revealed recently there have been a number of changes, including the shipping terms, effective on December 1, 2010; the company will guarantee on-time delivery and refund freight charges, if the consignment is late, even for only one minute, and caused by Kerry Express.
Using their state of art consignment tracking software, known as DMS, identifying the root cause of delay, enables Kerry Express to pin point the delay reason in just a few minutes. With such technology, the company can feedback its customers on the same day the claim is made.
Bob Turner, General Manager of Kerry Express stated, “Services should be like any other commodities, if you went to a shop and purchased an item, and it was not given to you, would you pay, obviously no, so what’s the difference with service?”
In addition, internet tracking will also be further enhanced, so that the customers can keep up with the status of their consignment online, coupled with individual account KPI reports and proof of delivery times.
Web-based consignment note printing will also be launched, to support customers’ needs to automate and manage their data.
“To support the increasing demand of our express services, additional line-haul trucks have been added and operate on a scheduled basis 6 days per week. The schedules have been retimed, so that we can reach the furthest destinations and deliver on time. This allowed us to eliminate Saturday delivery surcharges,” Bob Turner added.
Moreover, warehouse space in Nakorn Rachasima and Surat Thani is now available, so that customers can keep their inventory, and shorten the time the consignee can receive their order.
Turner gave example that an order could be taken as late as 03.00 and would still be able to reach Had Yai by 09.00 on the same day, through this service.
Expansion of its network in the up-country locations will continue adding more warehouse space throughout Thailand.
On October 1, 2010, Kerry Express’s Phuket office was opened.
