Bangkok--18 Nov--www.vivapopopera.com VIVA!, Thailand’s pop opera voice band, featuring five charming classically trained singers from Thailand, today announces its Asian & African tours and concert debut on Dec 18, 10 at Dr. Thaworn Phornprapha Auditorium on Rama 1 road, in Bangkok. Mr. Eugene Eustaqio, Thailand’s leading classical singer and vocal coach for VIVA!, said “VIVA! is Thailand’s first and only pop-opera musical ensemble of five young Thai prodigies whose exceptional talents are putting the band in the international league and is set to be another success story in the lucrative "pop opera" market. This is not like a classical recital but a mix of traditional opera with contemporary pop. The Sopranos get to wear the sexiest outfits they want and the men all look like they have stepped out of a fashion shoot. The audience varies from opera buffs to young people who usually only like pop groups.” VIVA! is the brain child of South African Producer Colin Law as well as Bangkok-based well-known classical singers Eugene Eustaquio and Ema Naito. VIVA! means the joy of life — the concept best portrayed by attractive fresh young talents and the perfect harmony created by the five distinguished voices weaving beautiful notes together. The five vocalists were discovered in an exhaustive auditioning process, in which they shone working in ensemble and demonstrated supreme commitment and willpower. Pop-opera is a well-established and well-liked music genre. It is, however, the first for Thailand that a homegrown pop opera group has been put together from scratch in Bangkok because Thailand has under-utilized, mega talents as well as a brilliant work ethic. The music direction is by Eugene Eustaquio and musical arrangements are by Mark Cheyne, award-winning music arranger from South Africa. The regional tours will start here in Bangkok then continue in many cities in South Africa, including Johannesburg, Cape Town, George, Port Elizabeth, Bloemfontein, Durban and Pretoria, in the first quarter of 2011. VIVA! Is Tulanan Narasetapisarn (2nd from left) Salith Dechansangworn (1st from left) Thanote Christopher Rojanakit (1st from right) Fueanglada Organ Prawang (2nd from right) Kamolporn Huncharoen (middle) In their thrilling debut show, VIVA! is going to sing a repertoire of over twenty songs in their ninety minute long show.
