Earth Wind & Fire Co., Ltd., in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Nakhon Nayok, invite all to join in the thrills and excitements of Thailand’s largest outdoor festival — Thailand International Balloon & Adventure Sports Festival 2010 (TIBF 2010). The exciting event is taking place at Khundan Prakanchon Dam, Nakhon Nayok Province from December 2-6, 2010 and will be highlighted by the firework extravaganza and Candle Lighting Ceremony honouring His Majesty the King’s Birthday on December 5.
The press conference, recently held at Grand Ballroom, S31 Hotel Sukhumvit Road, saw representatives of organizing partners and supporters from the government and private organizations on the panel, giving full details on the upcoming mega-event. Addressing the Thai and international media corps were Mr. Sutthiphongse Chulacharoen, Governor of Nakhon Nayok Province; Mr. Yut Wanichanond, Earth Wind & Fire’s Advisor and TIBF initiator; Group Captain Veerayuth Didyasarin, Vice President of Royal Aeronautic Sports Association of Thailand under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King; Mr. Noppadon Pakprot, Executive Director of Service Promotion Division, Tourism Authority of Thailand. Leading her team to greet all distinguished guests and the Press members was Ms. Nannapas Krainara, Earth Wind & Fire Company’s Managing Director.
The afternoon also honoured some 13 photographers who have won the award in the TIBF 2009 Photo Contest. Those included First Prize-winner Mr. Chadatharn Chaipuriyanond, Second Prize-winner Mr Sanit Sukporn, Third Prize winner Mr. Akrayoch Petch-umpai and ten other winners of the special merit awards.
Mr. Yut who is also a hot-air balloon pilot revealed: “This marks the first time ever for Thailand’s biggest outdoor adventure sports festival to take place at this massive and scenic dam. Throughout the five days of the festival, TIBF 2010 will feature a series of adventurous and entertainment activities on the 350-acres venue including Motor Sports, Car Drifting, Cliff Climbing, Rafting, Jet Skiing, Inline Skating, Para Gliding, Water Fountain & Laser Show, Balloon Launch, Balloon Night Glow, Camping, Live Music, Theme Park, Light & Sound Slide Multivision and so much more. At the same time, we will provide sport clinics and talks by sport gurus to share their techniques with those who have a great passion in adventure sports.
Mr. Sutthiphongse, meanwhile, said: “Nakhon Nayok Province and all Nakhon Nayok residents are very pleased and proud to jointly host this spectacular festival, especially the fireworks extravaganza and Candle Lighting Ceremony honouring His Majesty the King’s 83rd Birthday on Sunday December 5. TIBF 2010 will also be a grand showcase for Nakhon Nayok’s rich cultural heritage and tourist attractions. Visitors will be delighted to find all in one place our famous cultural shows, the OTOP products, flowering and ornamental plants and many more.”
Speaking on behalf of the TAT, Mr. Noppadon revealed: “TAT has been supporting the event in view of the strong commitment and the dedication of TIBF’s organizers. Special event of this scale will go a long way in promoting the good image of Thailand and will greatly benefit the tourism sector. It will generate income for the local community and thereby contribute to the country’s economic growth.
