Chevrolet Sales Thailand (CST) has unveiled a host of new and upgraded models at the Thailand International Motor Expo 2010, including Chevrolet’s global compact sedan Cruze, the Chevrolet Aveo CNG, the Chevrolet Captiva with new benzene engine and the Chevrolet Colorado sport edition. A wide variety of pre-owned Chevrolet vehicles will also be available at the “Chevrolet Certified Used Car” booth, backed by equally interesting promotions.
Mr. Martin Apfel, President of General Motors Thailand and Southeast Asia and Chevrolet Sales Thailand, said various advanced models will also be displayed at GM’s booth during this year’s Motor Expo. The highlight of Chevrolet’s product line is the first public appearance of the global compact sedan Chevrolet Cruze.
“This is the most appropriate timing for us to launch new products into the Thai market as the automobile industry here is growing significantly. In similar direction, Chevrolet’s sales have so far increased 75 percent,” Mr. Apfel said. “GM is now ready to boost our presence in Thailand and the region with a number of new models, including the Chevrolet Cruze, Aveo CNG, the benzene-engine Captiva and the latest edition of the Corolado.”
Customers can test-drive the all-new Chevrolet Cruze, which is available with either a 1.6 or 1.8 liter, 4-cylinder, DOHC 16-valve benzene engine and 2.0 liter diesel commonrail turbo, priced between 729,000-1,149,000 Baht. Engineered to respond to all driving conditions, the Cruze’s strengths lie in its superior Euro-ride suspension and a spacious interior, in addition to a host of intelligent features, performance and safety. Other features include Automatic Headlamp System, Automatic Rain Sensor, USB and Bluetooth Connectivity and a centrally-located Driver Information Display.
Chevrolet will also launch the AVEO CNG during the Motor Expo — providing motorists with an option for a full-sized compact sedan with small-car benefits. The CNG system in the AVEO is upgraded to enhance performance, drivability and durability while the transmission and suspension have been upgraded to enhance handling. In GM’s validation tests the AVEO proved to be 57% more economical (in terms of fuel costs) compared with the ‘best small car’ available today. The AVEO CNG is definitely the ‘eco-friendly’ answer to customers looking for ‘small car’ benefits without actually being in one!
The Captiva will also be reintroduced during the Motor Expo, with a new instrument console, new connectivity options and a 3D sound system. New also to the Captiva will be the US-developed E20-capable 2.4 liter benzene engine, delivering up to 165 horsepower. Yet another first by Chevrolet and also in its class, the new engine will be fitted with a new 6-speed automatic transmission.
Chevrolet will also launch a special edition of the Colorado — the Colorado Sport Edition, whilch will come adorned with Rally Strip Graphic from the skirt up to the rear of the truck. Other additions include off-road wheel arch trimmings and new side-steps, all distinguished by a Sport Edition logo.
Visitors and customers at Chevrolet’s booth should also check out Chevrolet’s collection of quality and approved pre-owned cars at the ’Chevrolet Certified Used Car’ (previously known as ‘Chevy OK’) section where some high-quality pre-owned Chevrolet models are available.
