The Ramada Hotel & Suites Bangkok in Sukhumvit Soi 12 has appointed Australian-trained Nick Tunpisit as Head Chef, effective 15 November 2010. Nick will take charge of the Ramada’s signature Boccone Trattoria overlooking the hotel’s garden retreat.
Nick specializes in contemporary, Italian, Australian, Moroccan, and French cuisine. The Ramada assignment is Nick’s first in Thailand after ten years of training and top level experience in and around Melbourne at signature restaurants such as The Bean Counter, The Mosq Restaurant, Morocco Lounge, Sixteen Ellis and La Porchetta.
Apart from culinary diplomas, Nick also holds official Australian food safety, hygiene and hospitality related information technology certificates from the Holmesglen Institute of Training and Further Education in the state of Victoria, Australia.
Ramada Hotel & Suites Bangkok, General Manager, Marcus Wirsching, said: “Nick’s very contemporary approach to cuisine fits in with the new and modern Italian flavours that guests can enjoy indoors or outdoors overlooking the garden from the Boccone Trattoria of Ramada Hotel & Suites Bangkok. The garden is the perfect place to enjoy the relaxed ambiance of Bangkok’s winter under romantic candlelight. Among many mouth-watering options, chef Nick will offer a selection of goat dishes that highlight the delicate flavour of this tender meat with an Italian inspired fusion. It is perfect for gourmands who are looking for something different, or for those on dietary restrictions.”
