Bangkok--2 Dec--Thai AirAsia Thai AirAsia’s inaugural flight launch to Delhi and Kolkota comes with good news. As of 14 December 2010, AirAsia will start flying daily between Bangkok-Delhi—an increase from the originally scheduled four days per week. “Ever since the airline opened for bookings on 12 October 2010, there has been so much demand that we decided to offer more flights so people can conveniently fly between Bangkok and Delhi on any day of the week. We expect the load factor to be at around 85% and we are optimistic that our goal will be met”, said Tassapon Bijleveld, CEO of Thai AirAsia. According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand, almost 600,000 people from Thailand visit India each year for tourism and recreational purposes. Meanwhile, statistics during January-August 2010 have shown a positive trend as visitors from India to Thailand have increased by more than 20%, compared to 2009. “Travelers from India to Thailand can utilize Bangkok as a transit stop to explore other parts of Thailand and Southeast Asia. Thai AirAsia’s strong connectivity from the capital city and its other hubs in Phuket and Chiang Mai will allow people to see the world with low fares” said the CEO. Thai AirAsia is celebrating the inaugural flights with a special promotional fare. One-way all-inclusive fares from Bangkok to Delhi start from THB 2,290 while fares from Bangkok to Kolkota start from an all inclusive fare of THB 1790 per way. Book from 1-5 December 2010 for travel during 1 February 2011-30 June 2011. For more information, visit www.AirAsia.com
