Bangkok--8 Dec--Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding
Four Seasons Hotel, Bangkok: Recently, Hongsa Power Company Limited celebrated its success of project finance in the amount of USD 2,783 million or approximately THB 94,620 million, the largest financing deal ever in Thailand. The "Thank You Party" was organized to appreciate its major shareholders namely, Banpu Public Company Limited, Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding Public Company Limited, and Lao Holding State Enterprise and nine leading financial institutes comprised of Bangkok Bank, Siam Commercial Bank, Kasikorn Bank, Krung Thai Bank, Government Saving Bank, EXIM Bank, Bank of Ayudhaya, Siam City Bank, and TMB Bank which led to the extensive cooperation and completion of the Thailand's largest syndicated loans in August 2010. Consequently, the company completed the initial drawdown of loan syndication in October. The financing laon will be utilised for development of the 1,878-MW Hongsa Thermal Power Plant Project located in Lao PDR which will commercially operate by 2015. The power generation from Hongsa Power Plant will be supplied to Electricity Generation Authority of Thailand (EGAT).
