Sonoko Prow blends multiple disciplines in her own unique way. On the one hand there’s her background in Performing Arts and Butoh dance. On the other hand there’s her training in Martial Arts, Yoga and Meditation. Add to these her vocational experiences as Acting Coach for Film-productions. And mix it with her deep, general passion to empower people, developing individual creativity and personal growth. Though these traditions may seem different - it is Sonoko Prow’s unique skill to transform and merge all of them, manifesting again and again in powerful acts, performances and workshops.
She conducts workshops for children and adults training professional acting skills, as well as self-development workshop by Performing Arts; such as raising self-awareness and self-empowerment for many universities, company and organizations.
With Khandha Arts’n Theatre Company she collaborated with many renowned artists both in local and international settings. She constantly engages with various individual artists from the visual arts, photography, media arts, and music and thus shares her own ways of expression in many countries,co-operating with artist communes and groups, on the street and Theatre stages.
In 2010 Khandha Arts’n Theatre Company was selected for the 5th Mekong Performing Arts Laboratory to exchanges among the artists from the Greater Mekong Sub-region in Quezon City & Bohol,Phillipines. In 2009 was selected to perform “Maenam: For A Little Less Noise” in Mekong Arts and Media Festival 2009, Phnom Penh,Combodia.
In 2009, Sonoko Prow was representative from Thailand to have solo dance performance “ Breath of Mountain” and performed with Batarita Company in “ Full Moon” as the guest artist in The Power of Age, Butoh and Contemporary Dance Festival in Budapest, Hungary. More info : www.khandhaarts.org
