Today’s Jetstar A330 flight introduction into Singapore will accelerate Jetstar’s fast-growing Asian operations from the city state and generate new passenger growth through commercial partnerships including Qantas. Jetstar’s A330 fleet offers a two-class long haul product including StarClass, Jetstar’s international business class. StarClass features a separate cabin, large all leather seats, all inclusive meals, in-flight entertainment and priority privileges including lounge access. Ms Chong said the event marked a historic chapter for aviation in Singapore with the introduction of long haul, value based flying. “Low cost carriers are revolutionising Pan Asia travel and Jetstar is at the forefront in our region,” Ms Chong said. “In Singapore today one in every five air passengers now travel on a low cost carrier. Ms Chong said by building this new long haul flying through Singapore, Jetstar’s three largest operations in Australia, Singapore and New Zealand would be connected offering customers an array of new affordable travel options. “Singapore travellers will be able to tap in to a wide range of Jetstar low fare destinations with access direct from Melbourne to many Australian domestic ports also including one-stop to New Zealand,” Ms Chong said. Mr Yam Kum Weng, Executive Vice President, Changi Airport Group, said: “Jetstar’s new A330 service is the first low-fare long-haul product from Singapore. The services will give travellers more options and strengthen Singapore’s position as the leading gateway to Australia and New Zealand.” Jetstar’s partnership in growth with Singapore Changi Airport supports up to 420 weekly return services to 22 destinations directly beyond Singapore.
