Adecco Group Thailand, The leader in Human Resource Solutions provider, says that hiring in 2011 tends to grow especially in the industrial segments, IT and telecommunication, consumer products business as well as coming back to growth automotive business. The growth in Thailand employment market next year is predicted to be in line with its neighboring countries where employment industry show continuous growth rate.
Tidarat Kanchanawat, Country Manager of Adecco Group Thailand revealed that the employment market in Thailand is forecasted to have an increasing demand especially in the growing industries namely IT and Telecommunication, consumer products, automotive as well as Finance & Banking sector due to the recent merger and acquisition of some local and international banks.
“The overall hiring business is expected to grow by 10-15% in 2011 compared to 2010. There will be a strong increasing demand in both permanent and contract hiring in the growing industries such as IT and Telecommunications as well as consumer products business. There is also a positive growth sign in automotive industry”, said Tidarat.
Tidarat added that banking and finance will continue to be a one of moving segment in 2011 whereas IT business will require positions with new and special skills including Server Virtualization, Collaboration Technologies (Web 2.0), Rich Internet and Mobile Apps, Cross-platform Support and Web Services. The sales and accounting positions will continue to be in demand. Such increasing trend in the employment market is not specifically in Thailand but in line with other countries in Asian region and the global economy.
However, 2010 was considered a challenging year for many organizations based in Thailand. The economic and political situation caused disruptions to many organizations and also a reduction or slow down in hiring activities. As the industry and business sectors prepare to move into 2011, they are recognizing some positive signs and preparing to take on more human resources both on a permanent and temporary basis. With the continuity of business expansion, we will likely see some vigorous competition from business organizations seeking to identify the best talents. Companies will definitely want to hire the best people to enhance their competitiveness. It will be an interesting challenge for many companies who would have to move forward with caution from cost containment perspective.
“Adecco as human resources solution provider predicts to see more flexibility in the workplace, with companies indeed taking on more talent but keep work arrangements flexible. Adecco will continue to play its part in 2011 in consulting with corporate decision makers as to how their talent base can be structured and steps needed to achieve workforce optimization. One thing for sure over the next year is that that most qualified and experienced candidates will be looking for very attractive salary packages”, said Tidarat.
