‘M-WHA’ property fund lists on Thai bourse on December 24

Bangkok--22 Dec--SET MFC-WHA Premium Factory and Warehouse Property Fund will be listed and traded on The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) on December 24 after its THB 1.28 billion (approx. USD 42.42 million) public offering. MFC-WHA Premium Factory and Warehouse Property Fund will be listed in the Property Development Sector, in Property and Construction Industry. The fund will use “M-WHA” as its abbreviation and has become fourth new property fund listed this year, SET Group Head-Issuer and Listing Chanitr Charnchainarong noted. The other property funds which listed in 2010 are, in chronological order, Thai Commercial Investment Fund (TCIF), Mercure Samui Property Fund (MSPF), Talaad Thai Leasehold Property Fund (TTLPF), In total, including M-WHA, THB 5.87 billion (approx. USD 194.55 million), has been raised through the capital market. M-WHA is a closed-end specified property fund, with an unspecified project life. The funds will initially be invested in freehold rights in two warehouses in Chonburi and one factory in Amata City Industrial Estate, Rayong, managed by WHA Corporation Co., Ltd. M-WHA presented 128.3 million investment trusts for THB10 each in its initial public offering (IPO) during December 1—8. MFC Asset Management PLC was its fund manager. The fund will pay out dividends no more than 4 times a year, at no less than 90% of its net profits excluding unrealized gains from the evaluation of all property, securities, or assets. The three principal shareholders of M-WHA after its IPO are WHA Corporation Co., Ltd., the Social Security Office, and Thai Life insurance Co., Ltd., holding 25%, 18.71%, and 7.79% of total investment units respectively.
