With the wind blowing this winter, dusitD2 chiang mai is transformed into a Christmas Wonderland, from the authentic Christmas tree to the creative festive displays all around, in order to create awareness for Earth and Peace as part of its Christmas and New Year celebration.
dusitD2 chiang mai has been committed from day one to the environmental and energy conservation. Hotel’s Christmas trees are thus eco-friendly designed with the unique decoration of paper and cloth “Tung” (traditional Lanna flag). The beautiful texture of Tung reflects the spiral of lives of all living creatures on this planet. More than 1,000 pieces of Tung are handmade by students from Lanna Wisdom School in Chiang Mai.
Wishing for a peaceful year in 2011, dusitD2 chiang mai introduces “For Earth and Peace” programme to create awareness of love and peace for the planet. As part of this programme, over a thousand of “birds of peace” papers, created by students from the Northern school for the blind under the patronage of Her Majesty the Queen, are beautifully flying all around the hotel.
“For Earth and Peace” festive programme is one of the projects that show how much dusitD2 chiang mai cares about the planet. The eco-friendly Christmas trees and “birds of peace” will be displayed at the hotel until 2 January 2011.
