A BBQ is an exciting way of dining, especially if there is a group of you, and Bhundhari Spa Resort & Villas on Koh Samui has come up with a concept in which a BBQ grill and all the ingredients, plus a BBQ chef if required, are provided for guests to prepare their own meals on the terrace of their guestroom or villa.
There is also the option of preparing a BBQ on the beach, and with the resort being situated directly on the sand at the quiet northern end of Chaweng Beach, this is the ideal place to organise a party.
Set menus are available, or guests can choose from the a la carte of meats, fish and vegetarian food, served with sauces and dips and with fresh salad ingredients on the side.
The hotel’s executive chef purchases all the products fresh from the local market, so you will need to book 24 hours in advance.
On the menu are items such as blue crab, jumbo tiger prawns, sea bass in banana leaf, salmon steak, baby squid, Australian beef, New Zealand lamb, pork spareribs, local chicken with lemon, veggie kebabs, stuffed peppers, and BBQ tofu.
Add a side dish of cous cous salad with fresh mint, potato and chive salad with cracked black pepper mayonnaise, Caesar salad, classic Greek salad, or one of the other crackling fresh salads, and you have a memorable BBQ.
Fixed menu prices start at 2,400 baht for two persons for a seafood set, and 1,450 baht for a vegetarian set. A charge of 500 baht is added for the services of a chef.
