HP and TOSHIBA TEC delivers an expanded product portfolio Strategic Alliance with TOSHIBA TEC: The multi-vendor advantage of HP’s MPS proposition is further fortified with an alliance with TOSHIBA TEC. Under HP Managed Print Services, HP will expand its product portfolio with select Toshiba multi-function devices (MFDs) for select high-volume customers in the enterprise market in Asia Pacific and Japan only. “We are indeed thrilled to cooperate with HP in the Managed Print Services business. The winners are undoubtedly our customers. They will greatly benefit from the solutions and products that are the outcome of our alliance”, explained Mr.Kazuaki Ushiyama, Executive Vice President, Managing Director, Document Solutions Business Group, TOSHIBA TEC. “We just wrote a new chapter in our MPS strategy for our customers today,” said John Solomon, Senior Vice President Imaging and Printing Group Asia Pacific and Japan. “Through our relationship with TOSHIBA TEC, we can now offer a true multi-vendor advantage allowing our customers a consistent user experience across their printing environment.” Optimize Infrastructure to Drive Efficiency New Innovations in HP FutureSmart Firmware and the latest version of the HP Open Extensibility Platform (OXP) enable SMB and enterprise customers to use future solutions on hardware purchased today as well as extend those capabilities to OXP-enabled devices dating back to 2005,(2) providing significant investment protection. Together, they allow HP and solution partners to develop advanced applications, making HP multifunction printers a document workflow kiosk for multiple business processes that enhance productivity. The new printing products announced today and all future networked, office-class HP LaserJet printers are based on HP FutureSmart Firmware. The new products, services and solutions are designed to help HP Managed Print Services customers cut costs, improve productivity, mitigate risk and drive business results. HP Printing Payback Guarantee (3) is a risk-free way to save for enterprise customers who are looking to operate more efficiently and cut costs. For new, qualified Managed Print Services (MPS) customers, HP will complete a detailed assessment of a company’s imaging and printing environment and needs, and then calculate a projected printing cost savings. One year after a customer’s full implementation of the HP recommendation, HP will complete a second assessment and if customers haven’t saved the projected costs, HP will make up the difference.(4) After a successful roll-out in New Zealand, Australia and Singapore, the program will now be extended across Korea, Hong Kong and Malaysia. Gaining an accurate, fact-based understanding of the organization’s current state and future goals is a critical first step to transformation. HP Industry Benchmark Assessment provides a low-cost, predictive modeling appraisal of the organization’s potential print spend, calculates how it trends against benchmark metrics and identifies areas for improvement. Manage Environment with HP Eco Solutions HP Eco Solutions Printing Award program, powered by IDC, was first launched in China in 2009 followed by Australia this year to recognise the environmental efforts of HP’s customers in printing, while providing the capability for customers to evaluate and assess the environmental impact of their printing in their organizations. Through the HP Eco Printing Assessment service under HP MPS, three winners for the Australian HP Eco Solutions Printing Awards winners for 2010 were identified last month — Allens Arthur Robinson, New South Wales TAFE and Synergy. This program will now be expanded to cover India and Greater China next year. An awareness brought to customers around the HP Eco Solutions Printing Award program, was providing the education of recycling of Original HP print cartridges through the HP Planet Partners Program as Original HP print cartridges recycled through HP’s Planet Partners program will not end up in a landfill. InfoTrends(5) estimates that 4 of 5 remanufactured toner cartridges sold will be thrown away after use. Use of non-original HP supplies may damage HP printers. If a non-HP print cartridge is found to be direct cause of printer failure or damage, HP will not be able to cover the repair related to that non-HP cartridge as HP’s warranty(6) does not cover non-original supplies. HP Managed Supplies Service was rolled out recently, which combines Original HP supplies and expert technical support into a single print services contract. This service offers greater control of imaging and printing environments for businesses that are not yet ready for a full-scale managed print services engagement. Under this service, procurement departments or IT managers with the role of supplies purchases, has the control and flexibility of fixed periodic charge for supplies and services and charges based on monthly print volume. Benefits of this service include Fleet optimization via annual assessment, which would provide visibility into the print environment with analysis of monthly usage reports to obtain greater cost savings. Enterprise customers pay for what they print only and enjoy the HP Automatic Toner Delivery, which will deliver supplies as needed. Improve Workflow to Drive Business to the Next Level With one of the industry’s broadest portfolios of products, solutions and services, HP helps customers improve workflow and maximize results so they can meet their business and environmental objectives. The new products that address this need include: The HP Color LaserJet Enterprise CM4540 Multifunction Printer series. The HP Color LaserJet Enterprise CP5520 Printer series. The HP Scanjet 7500 Enterprise Flatbed Scanner. HP Dynamic Marketing, based on the HP Exstream customer communications solutions platform, allows customers to create, manage and deliver meaningful, relevant marketing materials and customer communications across the enterprise in a timely manner. Proven MPS Leadership Industry analyst firm, Gartner, Inc. has placed HP in the Leaders Quadrant in its 2010 Magic Quadrant for on Managed Print Services (MPS) Worldwide. In the Gartner Magic Quadrant report, HP was evaluated on its completeness of vision as well as its ability to execute. Gartner classified leaders as organizations that “provide MPS to a wide range of customers, including the largest and most geographically dispersed, so they must demonstrate a truly global reach. They must demonstrate not only the skills to deliver today’s MPS, but also the understanding, initiative and resources to prepare for tomorrow’s MPS. Leaders characteristically augment the full scope of MPS with a wide range of added-value services. As a result, they are frequently shortlisted by large and midsize customers.” HP commitment to its MPS customers is further established by a number of existing HP MPS customers who renewed their MPS service level agreement (SLA). Some of them include Allens Arthur Robinson, Hirepool and Sime Darby. Acknowledging the power of HP MPS solution, Gwenyth Taylor, Manager PMO, Allens Arthur Robinson said, “HP MPS has transformed our printing environment. We’ve drastically reduced the number of devices, gained multifunction efficiencies and freed staff time. What’s more, the solution brings visibility to usage patterns and costs that were not obvious before” “And top it all we have also saved millions of dollars (no exaggeration) and drastically reduced our greenhouse gas emissions,” added Gwenyth.
