The Japan Foundation, Bangkok together with SF World Cinema, with support of the Embassy of Japan in Thailand, proudly presents “Japanese Film Festival 2011 — Akira Kurosawa Centennial Retrospective” from Thursday 6th — Wednesday 19th January 2011 at SF World Cinema, Central World Plaza 7th floor.
The Japan Foundation is presenting this centennial celebration at its overseas offices to showcase the institute’s precious collection of 25 classic masterpieces crafted by the late Japanese director, Akira Kurosawa, on the occasion of the master’s 100th birthday this year.
Moreover, the Japan Foundation will organize a discussion between upcoming Thai directors on Kurosawa’s work and how it has inspired their work.
Interested viewers are welcome to join the festival “Free of Charge”. Tickets are available 30 minutes before the screening of each film, 1 ticket per person per film at the venue.
