Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) announced its check-in service at Bangkok City Air Terminal (BCAT) at Makkasan Station for passengers and their baggage flying THAI domestic and international flights.
The airport rail link provides additional travel convenience for passengers traveling to and from downtown Bangkok and Suvarnabhumi Airport. Mr. Sophon Zarum, Transport Minister, made an official inspection of Bangkok City Air Terminal (BCAT) at Makkasan Station on 4 January 2011 and observed THAI’s check-in process and the baggage check systems operating from Bangkok City Air Terminal, Makkasan.
Mr. Lek Klinvibul, THAI Vice President of Ground Customer Services, said that “Passengers flying Thai Airways International may check-in at THAI counters number 16-20, located on Level 3 of Bangkok City Air Terminal at Makkasan Station, from 0700 to 2100 hours daily. This service provides additional choice and convenience for passengers who wish to check-in for flights at Bangkok City Air Terminal, instead of at the airport, receive boarding passes, and check their baggage through to their final destination.”
The THAI BCAT check-in service at Makkasan Station is available only for passengers with confirmed tickets on a THAI domestic or international flight, and who have purchased the Express Line ticket on the airport rail link. The travel time from Makkasan train station to Suvarnabhumi Airport on the Express Line is only 15 minutes and costs 150 baht. Passengers are advised to check-in at Bangkok City Air Terminal (BCAT), Makkasan, three hours prior to flight departure. Passengers with three to 12 hours to spare have the option of checking-in at Bangkok City Air Terminal (BCAT), Makkasan, allowing them to be free of baggage with extra time to explore the city.
