Bangkok--10 Jan--Alliance Francaise de Bangkok
Following the huge success in organizing 2 previous outdoor films festivals, Alliance Francaise de Bangkok and French Embassy will present the 3rd French Open Air Cinema Festival screening six outstanding French films over 2 weekends on January 14 — 16, 2011 at Lumpini Park and January 21 — 23, 2011 at Santi Chai Prakan Park scheduled from 19:00 hrs. onwards.
The outdoor movie-goers will enjoy watching a vast genre of movies with a kick-off of A Bout de Souffle, a classic movie of the forefront director Jean-Luc Godard; Les Parapluies de Cherbourg, a light-heart musical comedy starred by Catherine Deneuve; L'heure Z้ro, a thriller movie based on the best-selling novel of Agatha Christie; Le Hussard sur le Toit, a romantic adventure movie of the famous actress Juliette Binoche; Les Enfants de Timpelbach, a family movie directed by Nicolas Bary with G้rard Depardieu and Carole Bouquet; La Fille de Monaco, a comedy drama directed by Anne Fontaine.
The event is free and open to the public. All movies will be in French with English subtitles. People are encouraged to bring low chairs or mat as no seating will be provided.
Held over two weekends in two of Bangkok’s most beautiful parks, the third Outdoor French Cinema Festival will not fail to delight all movie aficionados!

January 14
Les Parapluies de Cherbourg
Director: Jacques Demy (comedy — 1964 — 91 min)
Actors: Catherine Deneuve, Nino Castelnuovo, Anne Vernon, Marc Michel The 1964 film Les Parapluies de Cherbourg (The Umbrellas of Cherbourg) by director Jacques Demi will also be shown, giving Francophones and Francophiles in the audience the opportunity to sing along to the soundtrack of this wonderful musical comedy.

Le Hussard sur le Toit
Director: Jean-Paul Rappeneau (adventure — 1995 — 130 min)
Actors: Olivier Martinez, Juliette Binoche, Fran็ois Cluzet Le Hussard sur le Toit (The Horseman on the Roof) was released in 1995, the film is a romantic adventure in the historical context of a period of unrest in 19th century France.

La Fille de Monaco
Director: Anne Fontaine (comedy drama — 2008 — 95 min)
Actors: Fabrice Luchini, Roschdy Zem, Louise Bourgoin La Fille de Monaco (The Girl from Monaco) featured bubbly Louise Bourguin and the incomparable Fabrice Luchini. This movie directed by Anne Fontaine was well received by critics when it came out in 2008. This comedy drama brings together three people divided by everything, which leads to comical and moving situations.

A Bout de Souffle
Director: Jean-Luc Godard (drama - 1960 — 87 min)
Actors: Jean-Paul Belmondo, Jean Seberg, Van Doude, Jean-Pierre Melville Jean-Luc Godard’s classic: A Bout de Souffle (Breathless) featuring among others Jean-Paul Belmondo and Jean-Pierre Melville. This film made by one the most famous French cinema directors and released in 1960 is one the world’s best known movies.

L'Heure Z้ro
Director: Pascal Thomas (detective film — 2007 — 107 min)
Actors: Fran็ois Morel, Danielle Darrieux L'heure Z้ro (Towards Zero) by director Pascal Thomas, a 2007 detective film based on a book by British mystery writer Agatha Christie, will lead the audience into an unbelievable tale of murder behind closed doors in which every character is a potential murderer.

Les Enfants de Timpelbach
Director: Nicolas Bary (comedy — 2008 — 97 min)
Actors: G้rard Depardieu, Carole Bouquet, Armelle, Lola Creton Laughter and merriment will be on the program with the screening of Les Enfants de Timpelbach (Trouble at Timpetill) a comedy directed by Nicolas Bary with G้rard Depardieu and Carole Bouquet. Released in 2008, the film has won over audiences of all ages and the screening will be an invitation for the whole family.
