Mr. Noppol Milinthanggoon, President of Ratchaburi Holding, said that this investment reflects our strategy for growth. It is because EDL Gen is a potential company backed by Electricite Du Laos (EDL), a state enterprise under supervision of Ministry of Energy and mine, as a major shareholder. Also its income mainly derives from sales of electricity generation to EDL in according to power purchase agreement. It ,therefore, generates consistent and steady income to our company. The transaction was made through two subsidiaries namely; RATCH-LAO Services Company Limited and RH International (Singapore) Corporation Pte. We expects 5% dividend yield from this investment.
RATCH-LAO Services Company Limited was allocated 56.112 million shares while 25 million shares went to RH International (Singapore) Corporation Pte. The subscription of 81.112 million shares uses the company’s capital and the company will subsequently recognize income in forms of dividend from EDL Gen where its dividend payout policy is set no less than 50% of its net profits.
This transaction is accordingly in line with the company's foreign investment policy and long term investment plan in power industry of Lao PDR which is growing continuously.
