The brand, with determination and dedication, is continuously developing varieties of innovative products to please the ever changing preference of its customers, especially with a growing number of the population actively pursuing a more environmentally friendly lifestyle due to profound effects of global warming. Prantalay has come up with an innovative way to pack its popular ‘boiled rice soup’ product, reducing the packaging materials required. The brand can now reduce the use of plastic by 65% or approximately 63 tons per year, lessening the greenhouse gas produced comparable to the saving of 200,000 kWh of electricity, which is equivalent to turning off 3,000 fluorescence lights every year. Most importa ntly, consumers now pay 15% less and receive more content in the process.
Prantalay ‘boiled rice soup’ provides healthy, convenient, and protein rich varieties including Shrimp, Grouper, Snapper, Salmon, Seafood mix; while Pranprai ‘boiled rice soup’ offers non seafood selections such as Pork andChicken. The price is also very affordable at 29-39 Baht. A 10 million baht campaign, ‘Believe it or not! Eating Prantalay boiled rice helps reduce global warming’, is put together especially for this launch; among younger and eco-aware generation at universities around the country to demonstrate the ‘green’ quality of the product using interactive activities, like Clip Contest, as a medium. Communication will be implemented via POP, online, events, road- show, and join the promotion activity through business alliances such as hypermarkets, supermarkets and convenient stores. The company expects a whopping 100 million Baht in target sales or a 15% increase in boiled rice category from 2010 which will push the sales revenue for Prantalay’s Ready-to-eat product to a total of 430 million Baht.
Furthermore, Prantalay looks to add a range of new delicious products over the course of the year so that customers will have diverse selections of healthy ready-to-eat products. In the face of the current raw material shortage, the company has expertly tightened its procurement process, quality control and relevant issues to make sure that we are able to produce goods suitable for the high standards of our customers. Our sushi section, with its firmly established customer base, is partnering up with Modern Trade to bring in new customers by having more promotion activities, revamping looks of sushi product and adding new fusion concept for instant. It is expecting an overall 300 million baht sales.
