Bangkok--21 Jan--TMB Bank
TMB today announced the success of its “Service Staff Realignment Program”, with a 95% take-up rate by the Bank's 487 service staff; many choosing to continue their current positions as employees of a third-party service provider.
To become more customer-centric and deliver the highest value to shareholders, TMB is ensuring all areas of its operation contribute to the Bank's value chain. This includes focusing human resources on its core business functions and using third-party providers for staff in service roles.
"TMB developed a Service Staff Realignment Program that was very fair for the staff involved. TMB dedicated a great deal of time to negotiate with outsourced partners to ensure 100% continuity for all affected service staff. We offered them a choice between receiving a very generous separation package and continuing their present position as an employee of a third-party service provider, or being redeployed to another position within the Bank," said Dr Agapol Na Songkla, Executive Vice President of the Bank.
The 95% who applied to join the Program received individual generous separation packages. Nearly all of them chose to stay in the same positions, but as employees third-party service providers. TMB also partnered with third-party service providers which its due diligence showed are good and ethical employers. In addition to job continuity, service staff who move to the third-party service providers will also receive salaries at the upper end of market rates for their positions, to reflect their many years of experience. Few people among those who participated in the Program opted to take the mutual separation package without joining the third-party service providers.
Five per cent service staff will be redeployed to other positions within TMB for which they are qualified. To facilitate internal placement, TMB reduced the minimum qualification level for the available jobs from college graduate to high school diploma level.
"The success of the Service Staff Realignment Program shows that service employees and Bank staff understand the rationale behind the Program, support it and deem it fair for all parties involved. " concluded Dr Agapol.
