Bangkok--27 Jan--Professional Media Business “Inter-Media” is brimmed with confidence that the auto market will grow 10% in line with the strong economy and consumer confidence. Chinese makers are expected to invest in the Thai market while the large well-established manufacturer is expanding production capacity. So the theme concept of Motor Expo 2011 is “Automobile Blossoms in Full Bloom”, welcoming the Golden Rabbit year of the auto industry. Said Mr. Kwanchai Paphatphong, President and CEO of Inter-Media Consultant Co., Ltd. and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of “THE 28th THAILAND INTERNATIONAL MOTOR EXPO 2011”, “Last year the auto market turned lively again especially during the Motor Expo, after having braved the economic and political crises, thus enabling the domestic auto market to achieve total sales of over 800,000 units while production number soared to 1.7 million units”. Mr. Kwanchai predicted the trend of the automotive industry in 2011 should grow 10% compared to the previous year, thanks to the many favourable factors especially the stronger economy resulting in enhanced consumer confidence and return to normal spending on all kinds of goods. Recent moves made by car companies are also indicative. Many Chinese auto makers have made a decision to introduce their vehicles in Thailand for the first time. Meanwhile the giant manufacturer that has long-established production base here shows confidence in the market this year by investing in production capacity expansion to cope with anticipated increase in both export and local demand. “We believe this year will see many new model launches in every category covering a broad spectrum of vehicles to meet increasingly diverse consumer demands. The new models will focus on fuel economy and eco-friendliness in the form of hybrid cars and vehicles, ready for such alternative fuels as Gasohol E20, E85 and diesel B5,” said Mr. Kwanchai. Moreover, there will be “eco-cars”, advocated by the Government to become another “product champion” of Thailand in the future, with their compact sizes, sophisticated designs and fuel frugality that have caught the fancy of buyers over a relatively short period of time. “Every year end when the annual Motor Expo is on, the atmosphere there is all hustle and bustle with such a wide diversity of cars on display to suit every taste and type of consumer. The organizer views this setting as not unlike a large flower garden in seasonal full bloom, to be seen and enjoyed once a year by both the public and car companies. And that is why we set the theme concept of “THE 28th THAILAND INTERNATIONAL MOTOR EXPO 2011” as “AUTOMOBILE BLOSSOMS IN FULL BLOOM”.
