(NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, today announced significant enhancements to its FedEx Critical Inventory Logistics? service, an integrated logistics solution that enables customers to more efficiently manage high-value and time-critical inventory throughout the supply chain. Customers using FedEx Critical Inventory Logistics service can now electronically place global orders, track inventory levels and order status at various points, and maintain visibility to FedEx domestic and international shipments by simply logging onto a web application on fedex.com. Status updates are also supported through electronic data interchange and delivered in a common global message format. These enhanced capabilities were developed by FedEx using a flexible IT framework designed to enable ongoing global enhancements that will continue to meet evolving customer needs. FedEx Critical Inventory Logistics customers around the globe can now access inventory and shipping status in real time—no matter where the order was placed or where it will be delivered.
