Bangkok--7 Mar--Chevron Recently a joint venture consisting of Chevron Global Energy Inc., Mitsui Oil Exploration Co., Ltd., and JV Marine Limited signed an agreement with IHI Corporation for the construction of a Floating, Storage and Offloading (FSO) vessel for the Erawan field to replace the existing Erawan FSO in the Gulf of Thailand. Anthony Kenrick (left), President of Erawan 2 FSO Bahamas Ltd. signed on behalf of Chevron while Yuji Hiruma (right), Executive Vice President of IHI Corporation signed on behalf of the contractor. The new FSO is anticipated to be operational in mid 2012 and the investment will create further opportunities for growth and development for Chevron and Thailand’s petroleum business in the years to come.
