Siam Winery, Thailand’s leading wine producer and imported of premium brands and Germany’s leading mineral water manufacturer are partnering to promote Gerolsteiner mineral water as an Ideal supplement to the range wines
Siam Winery, Thailand’s leading producer of premium wines, is expanding its portfolio in a partnership with Gerolsteiner Brunnen GmbH & Co. KG, the market leader in high-quality mineral waters. The partnership will promote “Water and Wine in Harmony”, offering consumers a variety of quality mineral water to pair with wines. Gerolsteiner will be available for both the catering business and at Villa Supermarkets, Tops Supermarket, The Mall, and Foodland.
As part of Siam Winery’s mission of “Building a Thai Wine Culture”, the aim is to raise the important role that a high-quality mineral water can play in enjoying the taste of fine wines.
“Majority of people are not aware that the taste and texture of water is a major contribution in tasting wine, therefore we are introducing the concept of pairing water and wine in harmony by offering fine mineral waters, Gerolsteiner with different expressions, which complements nicely with red and white wines,” states Daniel Schwalb, Sales and Marketing Director for Siam Winery.
Dietmar Spille, who heads Gerolsteiner’s Asian operations, is confident that the joint venture will be successful: “We have found an important partner in Siam Winery, so that the best water can now be offered with the best wine in Thailand.” The partnership is bringing together one of the world’s best mineral waters with South East Asia’s biggest winery.
The pairing of water with different wines is as important as pairing wine with the right food. The pairing of the right water with wine comes down to carbon content: wines with a large amount of tannin pairs well with still water, while a more supple wine is matched well by mineral water with a lot of sparkle. The mineral content of the water is a factor as well.
Gerolsteiner mineral water has a balanced and naturally high mineral content. To safeguard this original quality, Gerolsteiner takes great care to ensure the purity of its product. Every litre of Gerolsteiner sparkling and medium mineral water contains about 2,500 milligrams of minerals and trace elements. This water from Germany’s volcanic Eifel region is therefore among the country’s most highly mineralised yet natural waters.
