THAI Transports Donated Goods to Japan

กรุงเทพฯ--18 มี.ค.--Thai Airways Thai Airways International continues to transport cargo of donated goods to assist earthquake and tsunami victims in Japan. Mr. Piyasvasti Amranand, THAI President, said that the government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, requested cooperation from THAI in transporting donated goods to assist earthquake and tsunami victims in Japan. The discussion was made at the meeting with the Prime Minister at the Parliament yesterday. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is Centre for the donation of goods and THAI will ship them to Tokyo. THAI had started the shipping right after the earthquake situation upon the request made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Today (17 March 2011) on flight TG640 to Tokyo, THAI will transport seven tons of relief goods including 5,000 THAI blanket (about 1.3 tons), THAI Eurng Luang drinking water (4.8 tons), 90 boxes of blankets and 400 flashlights (altogether about 1 ton) from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. THAI stands ready on daily basis to transport relief goods donated via the Ministry of Foreign Affair to those in need in Japan.
