The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) will send a team of experts to promote savings and investment through various financial products at the “SET in the City” event for residents of the northeast on March 26 at Sunee Grand Hotel, Ubon Ratchathani.
This investment fair will be organized by the SET, Ubon Ratchathani Province , Ubon Ratchathani Chamber of Commerce, Federation of Thai Industries and the Financial Institutions Club of Ubon Ratchathani, SET President Charamporn Jotikasthira revealed. During the fair, experts will offer knowledge and advice on various types of investment to best meet current economic conditions and the lifestyle of each investor.
“Ubon Ratchathani province is noted for its growth potential and has a large number of high-worth residents. The province is an economic leader of Thailand’s northeastern region, which presents possibilities to expand the country’s investor base. In February 2011, total securities trade from Ubon Ratchathani province was worth THB2.27 billion (approx. USD73.47 million), which was the fourth highest trading value in the Northeast. Five securities companies now operate in this province, and local officials and the private sector are seeking to introduce projects to add more value to existing businesses, create more jobs, and generate more income for locals. This upcoming “SET in the City” fair in Ubon Ratchathani is an important opportunity for residents in the region to conveniently access information and directly obtain investment advice from experts”, said Mr. Charamporn.
During the mobile “SET in the City” event in Ubon Ratchathani, participants will attend seminars featuring eminent guest speakers on “Detecting Economic Trends & Stock Directions in Q2” and “The Guide to Stock, Gold and Fund Investments”. Both seminars will have question-and-answer sessions to help participants to invest prudently. Twenty-five SET Group companies, securities and asset management firms, gold futures brokerage companies and the Agricultural Futures Exchange of Thailand will also set up exhibition booths to advise on financial issues and investment.
Moreover, several fun activities and campaigns to help educate participants about investment, such as online investment simulation games and free distribution of “Freshy Investment Guide”, which comes with suggested outstanding securities for both seasoned and new investors. Event-goers will also receive Derivative Guides, personal financial planning services, savings and investment budget allocation service, and individual retirement and tax planning services. There will also be premiums for those who invest at the event as well as chances to win gold for all event-goers.
