Bangkok Bank President Chartsiri Sophonpanich (2nd from left), Executive Vice Presidents Virasak Sutanthavibul (2nd from right), Narin Opamuratawongse (right), and Chaiyarit Anuchitworawong (left) congratulated XZell Laboratory, a team of students from Thammasat University, for winning first prize in the Asia Venture Challenge 2011, an Asia-wide business planning competition. XZell Laboratory won the competition with their business plan for DenkiTector, a dengue fever test kit, which enables prompt diagnosis of the severity of dengue fever in patients and facilitates timely treatment and rehabilitation. The team won first prize over 13 other teams from China, Hong Kong, India, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Thailand, and will now participate in the global Venture Labs Investment Competition in Texas, USA, in May 2011. The winning team has registered the product as a patent in Thailand, the US and Germany. Bangkok Bank has sponsored the competition for the seventh consecutive year this year.
