While Sir Alex Ferguson cools his heels during his touchline ban, rumour has it the enterprising folk at the charitable arm of the club, the Manchester United Foundation, have whipped away his comfy Audi car seat to auction during the Legends fund-raising tour of the Far East next month.
The tour, which visits Bangkok (April 6), KL (April 8) and Hong Kong (April 9), includes legends Andrew Cole and Bryan Robson. Robson’s energy which made ‘Captain Marvel’ the longest-serving captain in the club’s history is undiminished by his recent surgery for throat cancer, as he and Treble Winner Cole set off to raise money for United for UNICEF and the Manchester United Foundation.
The Audi seats — one of which will be auctioned in each city - are actually from last year’s Old Trafford dugout, but are all signed by the 2010 first team.
