Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) recently celebrated its 40th anniversary since the first flight between Thailand and Australia.
Among the THAI Management to welcome passengers on the 40th anniversary flight from Bangkok to Sydney at Suvarnabhumi Airport were Mr. Lek Klinvibul, Vice President, Ground Customer Services Department, Mr. Charles Pamonmontri, Director, Sales Management Department, together with Mr. Piti Ramasoot, Director, Strategy and Business Management Department. April 1, 2011 marked a four decade milestone in the Company’s history when THAI’s first intercontinental flight operated to Australia on the route Bangkok - Singapore - Sydney in April 1971. “Having flown to the Australian continent for forty years, THAI cherishes the loyalty of our customers who are always close to our heart. We strive to promote the highest standards of service and introduce new products for our customers’ travel enjoyment,” said Mr. Lek Klinvibul.
Currently, THAI operates 18 flights per week between Sydney and Bangkok, twice daily flights between Bangkok and Melbourne, daily flights between Brisbane and Bangkok (as of 19 April 2011 onwards), and 7 flights per week between Perth and Bangkok, including 4 non-stop flights between Australia and Thailand (effective 19 April 2011 onwards) offering the latest in-flight comforts and personal entertainment systems for all passengers.
