Utip, the first Teen natural cosmetics brand in Thailand launched the ‘Utip Cosmetics’ the first-ever completion cosmetics brand with benefit from natural and flower extracts for teen aged among 15-18 years old. At the launching event was held at Siam Center, Utip also announced its investment over 100 million Baht to open the new market segment on natural cosmetics for teenagers. The company expected to get 10% market share from teen cosmetic market within this year and planed to be the Leader on Teen cosmetic brand by the next 3 years with market share over 25%.
Ms.Tonghathai Kuvanont, Osotspa’s Director of Health and Personal Care recently said ‘with an increasing interest on beauty lifestyle, presently the total market for teen cosmetics is valued over 2,000 million Baht with over 10% growth each year. From its survey of 400 cosmetic users, over 70% use cosmetics. The qualification on cosmetic that users looking for -- 30% prefer sensitive cosmetics, 20% natural glowing and 20% long lasting smooth.
From its success on lip cosmetic -- lip tint, lip balm and lip gel, the company introduced compact powder Utip Magic Sweetie Press Powder SPF 15, Blush on Utip Magic Blossom Blusher and BB Powder Utip Magic Charming BB Powder SPF 15 for teen cosmetic users. The company also used 3 Star Idol from Utip Freshy Idol 2007-2009, Charinporn Chunnakiat, Napasasi Surawan, Kaewmanee Wattanawarakul as presenters for new Utip natural cosmetic products.
To reach the target group, the new advertising concept under ‘Utip…Magic of Natural Beauty’ was applied through variety media channel including television, printed media, internet, social network and www.utip.co.th. In addition, over 100,000 samplings have been distributed to create its brand awareness on natural cosmetic for teen.
