Thanpuying Pharani Mahanond (in the middle), The Deputy Private Secretary to HM. the Queen, has recently presided over the press conference of Book Launching of “The Royal Goldsmiths” by Rattakorn Mongkoltham (3rd from right) at Shanghai 38, Chinese Restaurant, Sofitel Bangkok Silom. Together with many VIPs have graciously attended the press conference to extend their congratulations to Rattakorn Mongkoltham for his new book launching.
The Royal Goldsmiths is the book indicating the high potential of the Royal Court (Divan) around the world, among which, the royal Siam. This book charts the history of fine arts of Westerners, especially those of Faberg? and Cartier, showing the cutting edge of design and the evolution of design artifacts which many of them are valuable and difficult to find.
During his reign, King Rama 5 requested foreign Goldsmiths, the two Jewellery Houses Faberg? and Cartier that were appointed Royal Goldsmith for the King. The book goes through the historical facts and explanations for the link between the two houses to the King of Siam. Finally, it presents the elements of success behind the worldwide recognition of Faberge and Cartier among Royal Courts around the world including that of Siam.
