Enjoy an exclusive evening at Amantee with the SCAD (Soi Cats andDogs) Foundation. ?mantee (which means 'peaceful space') is an exquisite complex of traditional Thai-style houses in an artfully landscaped tropical garden.
The SCAD Foundation is delighted to announce a Benefit Jazz Concert and Dining Cocktail on Saturday April 30th 2011 at Amantee at 7.30pm.
We are honoured to have a private audience with the distinguished American guitarist David Cameron and Vietnamese percussionist Ha Dinh Hui. This one-night-only performance will be a not-to-be-missed opportunity for Bangkok music lovers who wish to support a worthy cause.
This unique event will be open to 80 people only, giving you the chance to relax, enjoy a wonderful Mediterranean buffet accompanied by specially chosen wines, with wonderful music in the exquisite Traditional Thai-style house and gardens of Amantee.
The proceeds from this concert will be donated to SCAD Foundation, and used for supporting its surgical program. The SCAD Foundation works tirelessly to promote animal welfare by reducing the number of street animals and improving the lives of street and companion animals in Bangkok through to achieve this through three main programs: Animal Birth Control, Adoption and Education. The price, per person, including the concert, buffet and free flow of wine, will be 2,000 THB per person. We would appreciate payment on arrival, to avoid paying credit card commission, enabling every baht to go to the charity.

The artists:
David Cameron - Guitar
David first picked up a guitar at the age of eight and began composing and arranging music in earnest during his early twenties. He's put together several bands in both the US and abroad and has devoted most of his professional career to music education. His first CD, 'Organic' was released on Samsong Records in 2004 and he has recorded several more singles since then. He has performed in several countries including the US, Laos, Vietnam and Ghana.
His original tunes range from mellow folk to jazzy funk with lyrics on the vagaries of love, life and relaxation. Warm vocals and shimmering acoustic guitar, along with a sense of humor and wordplay define his work. David is also a teacher and passionately devoted to fostering the enjoyment of music amongst youth throughout the world.
Ha Dinh Huy - Percussion
Huy was born in 1976 in Hanoi and graduated in Composing Music at the College of Arts and University Hanoi Conservatory. He is currently working at the "National Theater of Vietnam Music Dance and Song", playing in Hanoi Jazz Club and teaching Drum & Percussion at the Music Academy of Hanoi UNIS. He started playing Jazz music since in 1994 and won many medals in music festivals from students to the national level. He has also participated in many festivals and performed at Jazz concerts in Europe and Asia.
