Aiming to encourage the Thai hair salon entrepreneurs to stay atop amidst fierce competition in the business, SP - System Professional, the luxury hair care brand under P&G Salon Professional, recently gathered hairdressers from across the region including Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand in Bangkok to attend “Ken Picton Asia Tour Salon Management” — an exclusive regional seminar featuring UK-based award-winning hairdresser and successful salon owner Ken Picton to share his secret key to success in running salon business.
Lending his expertise in successful salon management gained through various experiences and achievements, Picton charmingly walked the audience through principles and techniques on how to integrate teamwork in a salon, handle different personalities within a team, and how to effectively communicate among hairdresser team as well as develop various skills in order to gain customer’s trust.
According to Picton, team members should gain different experiences from seminars or competitions, which will contribute to the team’s success and will help them being motivated.
Picton also shared with the audience his secret strategies in gaining customer loyalty including giving them important hair tips and tricks that they could pull out on their own and helping them with hair problems by suggesting specific high quality products that address specifically to the problems.
He added that, when not attempting to press too hard, selling of top-notch products like those of SP always bring beautiful results. By introducing a homecare range, salons will be able to increase revenues and profits. Apart from standard hair cutting and styling services, additional services such as food & beverages or massage are promising areas where salons can boost income.
Picton revealed 3 simple ways to grow a business which are 1) increase the number of clients, 2) increase the frequency of each client’s visit and 3) increase the average bill/spend. The use of the Internet via websites helps tremendously with the building of the brand identity, while social network such as Facebook and Twitter make it easy to spread news and updates as well as maintain good relationship with customers.
