The Ministry of Agriculture and Co-operatives Committed the Royal Flora Ratchaphruek 2011 as the Grand Expo for Three Auspicious Celebrations under the theme of “The Greens to Reduce Global Warming”
The Ministry of Agriculture and Co-operatives has confirmed that the International Horticultural Exposition: Royal Flora Ratchaphruek 2011 will be grand with an aim to celebrate the Anniversaries of His Majesty the King, Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince. This international exposition will feature spectacular international flowers and plants in the aspects of magnificent gardens and competitions under the concept entitled “Greenitude: Reducing Global Warming to Save Planet Earth and to Improve the Quality of Life”
Mr. Chalermporn Pirunsarn, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Co-operatives announced the readiness in organizing the International Horticultural Exposition: Royal Flora Ratchaphruek 2011 and designating the Right Man Company Limited as the organizer of this event to create all showcases including exhibition halls arrangements and interesting medias presentation all over the place. The Royal Flora Ratchaphruek 2011 will be located at the area of 470 rai of Royal Park Rajapruek in Mae Hia Sub-District, Mueang District of Chiangmai for 99 days from 9 November 2011 to 15 February 2012.
The main objective of the Royal Flora Ratchaphruek 2011 is to commemorate three auspicious occasions of the 84th Anniversary of His Majesty the King, the 80th Anniversary of Her Majesty the Queen and the 60th Anniversary of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince. This international expo will feature many highlights and programs of activities to attract all visitors including the exhibition to showcase the Royal Duties and Royal Projects of the Royal Family.
The permanent secretary of Ministry of Agriculture and Co-operatives further cited that this Royal Flora Ratchaphruek will reflect Thailand’s competitive potential in agricultural and horticultural science and technology which will promote and develop the horticultural profession and open more channels in exporting Thai products to the world market.
Mr. Chalermporn Pirunsarn is highly confident that this event will boost the economy and tourism of Thailand, particularly in Chiangmai and her neighboring provinces with the estimated financial turnover of more than 10 billion Baht generated from the import and export of agricultural products and other business sector such as tourism, hotel and other services.
Mr. Jirakorn Kosaisawe, Director General of the Department of Agriculture stated that the theme of the Royal Flora Ratchaphruek 2011 is “Greenitude: Reducing Global Warming to Save Planet Earth and to Improve the Quality of Life” with the concept of 3 Gs and 3 Rs.
The 3 Gs are “Generation”, “Garden” and “Greenitude” which has been conceptualized to cultivate awareness of humankind from generation to generation, to care and preserve the trees and to lift their spirits to sustain the green planet.
The 3 Rs are “Reduce”, “Reuse” and “Recycle” geared towards optimization on the use of resources, by reusing and recycling as a way of maximize and efficient use of existing resources.
The logo of the Royal Flora Ratchaphruek 2011 is “Ratchaphruek” and the 5-mascots of this event are “Nong Khoon”, “Lom Bin”, “Din Cham”, “Nam Sai” and “Ai Oon”.
The Director General of the Department of Agriculture further stated that, to date, Thailand has received the confirmation from 30 countries to attend this international expo of tropical flora such as Canada, Australia, South Korea, Turkey, Kenya, Nepal, Bhutan, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Sudan. Moreover, there will be domestic corporations who wanted join this event such as Toyota Motor Thailand; Petroleum Authority of Thailand, Thai Beverage Public Company Limited, Charoen Pokphand Group and CAT Telecom Company Limited.
The highlights of the activities of the Royal Flora Ratchaphruek 2011 are categorized into 3 parts, including exhibitions, national and international horticultural symposia and competitions on various topics related to tropical flora. The event also displays the Royal Duties and Intelligence of His Majesty the King under the theme entitled “84 Years under the Great King Prestige” and another Commemoration Exhibition, featuring the Royal Duties of their Majesties and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince in relation to agriculture. Also, international indoor and outdoor gardens as well as national and international exhibitions on horticultural and agricultural science and technology with the concept of 3Gs and 3Rs to attract all visitors.
The National and International Conferences which will be held during the Royal Flora Ratchaphruek 2011 serve as the forum in exchanging views and knowledge, featuring 11 symposia such as “The Role of Agriculture and Natural Resources in Reducing Global Warming”, “International Symposium on Tropical and subtropical fruits”, “International Symposium on Rubber”, “World Conference on Silk”, “International Symposium on Orchid and Ornamental Plants”, “The Role of Agriculture and national Resources on Global Warming”, “International Rubber Research and Development Board”, “International Symposium on Medicinal and Aromatic Plants”, “3rd International Symposium on Papaya”, “International Symposium on Tropical and Subtropical Fruits”, “22nd Congress of International Sericulture Commission”, “International Symposium on Orchid & Ornamental Plants”, “The 12th SABRAO Congress”, “International Symposium on Banana”, “Regional Symposium on Vegetables” and “International Conference on Tropicaland Subtropical Plant Diseases”. There will also be National and International Competitions on 51 varieties of flowers, ornamental plants, fruits, vegetables and gardens.
Another highlight of the event is the Giant Flora Wheel with 40 meters high, from which you will enjoy the scenery of the whole area of this splendid festival. The Imagination Light Gardens will impress all visitors with a creation of million lighting spots and the beauty of dancing butterflies. The Kids’ Eco Park serves as the exhibition to entertain children with knowledge and inspire the new generation to care for the environments and to reduce global warming.
