Bangkok--20 May--AIT
The Asian Institute of Technology (www.ait.asia) and CSR Asia (www.csr-asia.com) are pleased to announce the launch of a flexible executive style professional master’s degree program in Corporate Social Responsibility (MCSR).
The eight-module program will be delivered through AIT’s School of Management and the CSR Asia Center at AIT. Each module is an intensive four-day course (usually Friday to Monday) allowing participants from across the region to fly-in for classes.
The program is designed for managers employed in the private sector and to those in government and civil society organizations interested in developing their skills in CSR. The MCSR will help build the capacity necessary to ensure that the business sector is better prepared to manage global sustainability challenges responsibly in a competitive business environment. Specifically, it offers knowledge, skills and competencies needed to deliver on CSR programs that meet business needs for long-term competitiveness whilst contributing to sustainable development. The degree will address the need to alleviate poverty and deliver on the Millennium Development Goals through active partnerships between governments, civil society organizations and the private sector.
The program will commence this September (2011). Enrollment is now open. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. The flexible modular structure of the program allows participants to take modules in any order and start the program at any time that suits their schedule.
Prof. Richard Welford, Chairman, CSR Asia, and adjunct professor at AIT’s School of Management, leads the new program. “We are pleased to offer this innovative program. It will provide people with comprehensive skills sets to deliver meaningful CSR programs in the corporate sector and beyond” , Prof. Welford said. AIT President Said Irandoust has noted that AIT’s collaboration with CSR Asia affirms the Institute’s intent to be a regional thought leader in the field of CSR. This new degree will bridge the capacity gap within firms and other organizations to deliver effective CSR programs.
