Fujitsu Releases Comprehensive Cloud Management Software- Enables fully Optimized ICT System operation in Private Cloud Environments -
Fujitsu Systems Business (Thailand) today announced that it has released its Cloud Infrastructure Management Software(CIMS) to enable automated and controlled virtualization and deployment of ICT resources in response to user requests. The software also visualizes the status and use of the resources, for both administrators and end-users, to ensure maximum efficiency in private cloud operation and virtual server use.
A growing number of enterprise customers are now planning for private clouds, for the cost reduction effects brought about by ICT resource consolidation and more efficient deployment of available systems. Fujitsu’s CIMS product, will enable such enterprise customers to maximize the value of their virtual environments with more efficient use of the available infrastructure, support for private cloud creation and maintenance, self-service system selection and operation and overall management cost reductions.
The product is already in use at Fujitsu’s Numazu Software Development Cloud Center, and has benefitted from the experiences and insights gained from its deployment in controlling over 3000 servers and virtualized service pools, that are used in the global development of Fujitsu’s own software.
“What enterprise customers expect from private clouds is a method of operation that changes the previous administration intensive tasks into “self-service” options. Such an approach enables the provisioning and delivery of virtual platforms to end-users on an on-demand basis; without little or no administrator participation,” said Mr. Tan Wee Pin, Regional Vice President Platform Products, Fujitsu Asia Pte Ltd “All the functions needed for private cloud operation are delivered in the Cloud Infrastructure Management Software and Fujitsu is now actively promoting this cost effective solution to enterprise customers and partners.”
CIMS consists of three functional parts. A self-service portal that let’s user select and customize their own systems using pre-defined resource configurations. A set of coordinated control functions for all resources that let administrators centrally control then and develop menu based service deployment options. A dashboard that allows administrators and users to see exactly how resources are being used to help ensure services are used to their maximum efficiency.
