Bangkok--27 May--British Council British Council is searching for a talented young Thai Entrepreneur to represent our country in Young Creative Entrepreneur Interactive of the Year 2011 (YCE) event in the UK along with other representatives from 10 countries. As a representative of Thailand, you will have a chance to be in London for an all-expenses-paid 7-day visit to participate in a shared programme of meetings including valuable networking and idea exchange with your international and UK peers in the interactive and media sector. The UK tour will run alongside London Film Festival and various other specific interactive, digital and gaming industry events in October 2011. YCE Interactive participants can be drawn from any of the following areas of the sectors: ? Interactive software, entertainment and games developers, specialist agencies, and publishers — working across various platforms (internet, broadcast, consoles and mobile devices) ? animation — development, production, post-production/special effects ? Distribution and sales for animation and other multimedia content ? Exhibition for interactive or digital content and festival/event programming and management Criteria for Applicants ? Be aged between 21 and 40 at the date applications are due ? Already work in the interactive sector (as above) with at least three years experience ? Be entrepreneurial and have shown their ability in the promotion and development of the interactive sector in Thailand, in either a commercial context, public context, or both ? Through their character, drive and abilities, demonstrate their potential as a future leader of the sector and a partner for the UK — which would see further work between Thailand and the UK ? Have good commend of English language - ‘competent user’ or above How to apply All the information and the application form will be available from the British Council. Presentation The finalists will be interviewed and asked to make a presentation about their vision for Thailand’s interactive/digital industry to the judging panel. The presentation will be containing written and visual material. Broadly, the presentation should include: Background of national interactive/digital industry & understanding of current situation/issues within it.Description of your own work as a interactive entrepreneurHow your own work sits in context in the national industry/situationYour wider vision for your own work and domestic interactive/digital world — demonstrating how you are a leader within it.How the YCE trip to London would benefit you and your workInherent within this should be a demonstration of how they successfully marry the commercial and creative aspects or your work — and understanding of business with the creative ability to drive your company forward — to qualify as an international ‘young creative entrepreneur’ What will be expected of participants We are looking for finalists who have an international outlook, who are keen to come to the UK to find out about UK interactive/digital, and to enjoy this shared experience with the rest of their fellow finalists. We expect that participants will be actively involved in a number of ways: ? Send all agreed marketing information (biog, photo etc.) prior to UK visit ?
