Chatchawan’s work on Body Canvas The VIE Hotel Bangkok’s experienced banqueting team together with Richard Wilson, Creative Director of Biz-Art, ensured the smooth and graceful running of the event. Richard Wilson was responsible for the talk-of-the-town body painting art illusion, is also the winner of the popular vote in the recent World Body Painting Festival in Koh Samui. He has painted more than 1000 faces and bodies in 6 countries. The arts on display were the work of three uplifting artists; Chatchawan Rodklongtan, Theerapon Rurngpaisitporn, and Pearapong Khireewong who together with Carpediem Gallery provided the paintings. Chatchawan’s detailed gold work on black is widely sought after. At first sight, his work resembles temple paintings, yet the artist has pushed this skill further, taking the form from mere decorative walls, doors, and ceilings to boldly worked screens on canvas. Theerapon’s works in contrast are enriching and colourful. He has a unique way of capturing moments of ladies enjoying their time beautifully. Finally, Pearapong’s exceptional projects about peace have both concrete and abstract perspectives, and are strangely moving. VIE Hotel Bangkok, the five-star standard hotel, recently received the “Trendy in Asia” by Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Award; the “Best Newcomer in Bangkok” award by Wotif.com, and has been nominated as “Best Urban Hotel” by Anywhere Travel. As well as its restaurant VIE WINE & GRILL that recently received the “Thailand’s Best Restaurant 2011” from Thailand Tatler Best Restaurant Guide, the second consecutive year that the restaurant has received the award.
