The Regent’s School by Ms.Kwanshanok Techavijit , Executive Director and Mr. Mike Walton, Principal.presided an edutainment play “Mr. Cookie’s Food Factory” aiming to enhance young children’s life skills and developments, cultivate health consciousness and encourage habits of healthy eating to children. The event was a fun packed learning experience, attended by The Regent’s School primary students and the children from Father Ray Foundation.
The funny and healthy story of MR.COOKIE’S FOOD FACTORY : ‘Mr. Cookie’ wants to be a doctor but he could not do this so he decides to be a school chef . He cooks low-quality and unhealthy food for the children and they become sick, tired and can not concentrate. He finds out what the problem is: too much salt, oil, sugar, and additives and not enough fresh fruit and vegetables and good quality meat and fish. Mr. Cookie learns how to make healthy food. The children then have healthy meals and recover.
The audience were primary students and the children from Father Ray Foundation who have very few opportunities to attend this kind of event. This performance entertained and taught children the benefits of healthy eating. The performers experienced acting with a real audience and with a real purpose. They learnt new songs and helped to make the props and costumes which helped them develop skills of how to work as a team. It provided an opportunity to share something with The Regent’s School community partners and because the message of healthy eating was very visual in the performance, it also provided all who took part with a good learning experience.
