Kodak (Thailand) Co., Ltd., introduces its latest digital cameras with more features, offering consumers more-than-photographing advantages. The easy-to-use digital cameras are with smart photo storing and easy-to-search technologies. Creative modes and effects allow consumers to have fun decorating their photos in their own style while the “share” button is in lines with consumers' mobile lifestyle and provide them with quick and easy access to the online society. Kodak is confident its sales growth will be 20 percent this year.
Mr. Paisan Areepongsa, Kodak (Thailand) Co., Ltd.'s sales and marketing manager for consumer digital imaging group, revealed that Kodak launched its latest digital cameras to serve the fast-changing technology market. Competitors' marketing campaigns and consumers' lifestyle kept changing. As a result, we had to develop our technologies to beat our rivals and serve our customers.
Seven latest digital cameras will be rolled out in the first half of this year. Three unique digital camera models are to meet consumers' different needs. They are Kodak Easyshare MINI, Kodak Easyshare Touch, and Kodak Z990.
Kodak Easyshare MINI, credit card-sized digital camera, is with wide-angle lens and 10-million-pixel resolutions. This model has glossy camera body and is priced at 2,990 baht. It is for amateur photographers. The target groups are female teenagers and working women.
Kodak Easyshare Touch, a medium-sized digital camera, is a touch-screen model with HVGA screen which offers two-time higher resolutions than other digital cameras. With color spot system, Kodak Easyshare Touch enables fixing the colors of objects to be more unique. The dept and shallowness of resolution can also be creatively determined to make photographs more interesting. It is priced at 5,990 baht. This model is for consumers who love photo retouch
Kodak Z990, semi-professional compact camera, is for consumers who want higher resolutions of photograph. With 12-million-pixel resolutions, 30-time zooming capacity of quality Schneider-Kruznach lens as well as BSI CMOS censor, the night-time capturing is more possible. The 3-inch HVGA LCD offers up to two-time higher brightness. This digital camera also enables video capturing in the form of Full HD and stereo sound recording system. It is priced at 9,900 baht only.
All latest digital cameras which will be launched this year have easier-to-use features. For example, the traditional function keys which are in texts will be mainly in graphics, so that customers will quickly understand and find them easy to use. With systematic photo storing, photographs can be kept in folders based on date, place, person's name or other key words. Therefore, it is easy to select photographs for viewing. In addition, the Face Recognition system will automatically record the face of the photographer in the folder.
Creative modes and effects are added to all this year's digital camera models. The film effect offers six types of film such as black and white film, color film, Sepia film and so on. Moreover, the photobooth-style capturing allows digital cameras to capture four photographs and merge them into one photograph. This is not to mention the post-capture technique enabling the focus of particular color spots, text adding as well as immediate photo framing. The separate video button makes video recording faster and more convenient. All Kodak digital cameras specially allow consumers to share their impressive photographs with the “share” button. Photograph uploading or sharing through social networks as well as email sending can be easily done in only three steps.
Khun Paisal concluded that the overall digital camera market growth would remain the same this year. The market growth was about 5-10 percent last year. Kodak targets 20 percent of total growth. To aggressively penetrate the digital camera market, Kodak has to follow planned strategies. First, Kodak will have to expand its solid business partner network. Kodak has about 385 Kodak Express shops nationwide. Its business partners include Photo Hut, Big Camera and Worldwide Image. Kodak will rely on these distribution channels to approach the target groups. Second, Kodak will have to find out how to persuade customers to buy new digital cameras. Price and quality will be emphasized. The most important thing is that Kodak has developed more features to serve consumers' changing lifestyle. The 3.0 inch HVGA LCD features two times more brightness than standard displays. The HDR technology covers more light range and color width including PASM adjustment system, RAW file, film modes and automatic panorama. Particularly this camera model features Full HD video recording with stereo sound priced at only 9,000 baht.
