VMware, the global leader in virtualization and cloud infrastructure today announced the arranging of “VMware Technology Day — Datacentre Virtualization Roadshow” in Thailand, demonstrating the core datacentre virtualization platform vSphere from VMware and partner solution to enable the adoption and deployment of virtualization technology across the organization and industry.

According to IDC research reported that in 2011 we will see a year of solid growth in Asia Pacific taking the greatest rise in IT spending. IDC forecasts that over the next five years, Asia Pacific spending on IT cloud services will grow fourfold, reaching USD4.6 billion by 2014. Spend on cloud computing will accelerate through the forecast period, with a forecast CAGR of more than 40% across the region from 2010 — 2014.
Moreover the market maturities in the Asia Pacific differ widely but the demand for cloud computing and virtualization is significant. Different markets are at different milestones in the journey towards to the cloud. Emerging markets start with virtualization and server consolidation, they are looking at cloud management and automation to create a self-provisioning, self-healing and secure infrastructure. However, what we are seeing now is that less mature markets are catching up very rapidly as they see the business advantages of cloud.
In this event VMware and partners i.e. EMC, NetApp and Trend Micro will present the technology, solution and services capabilities to customers and prospects on virtualization technology for efficient datacentre.
