The undergraduate team of AU marketing majors recently won the Thailand Finals of the 2011 L’Or้al Brandstorm international marketing case competition. This year's competition focused on L’Oreal Professionnel; the expert, trendsetter brand for the world’s greatest hairstylists with a challenge for students to launch the L’Oreal Professionnel Homme brand for men. AU's Team “Reussi”, supervised by AU Department of Marketing lecturer Dr.Arpavadee Visetbhakdi, consisted of Mr. Eak-pab Kanchanavasutha, Ms. Patama Kitina and Ms. Suphanida Leekijwiridhpol, all senior students of the Department of Marketing, Martin de Tours School of Management and Economics. Their team bagged the first runner up prize in Thailand and received 45,000 baht with a trophy.
Reussi presents the concept of a new product that lets men enjoy nightlife and still work hard in the daytime. The product colors hair temporarily before it changes back to its natural color just in time for serious work the next day.
The L’Or้al Brandstorm 2011 competition was launched with many universities in Thailand last year. Top case submissions were selected from each university and these teams earned the chance to move on to the L’Or้al Brandstorm Finals. The panel of judges was composed of experts from different areas and this included the Managing Director for L’Oreal Thailand, Managing Director from Cut & Curl, and Mr.Pawoot Pongvittayapanu, an expert in the area of E-Comomerce and E-Marketing. This year, the team “Muse” from Thammasat University won the first prize, while “Reussi” of Assumption University and “Prestige” of Mahidol University won the first and second runner-up awards respectively.
Furthermore “Underdog” from Thammasat University got the E-Storm award as the team with the best multimedia presentation. The winning team was chosen to represent Thailand in the L’Or้al Brandstorm International Finals and received 60,000 baht, a trophy and airfares to Paris, France.
