Bangkok--7 Jun--Raj Pracha Samasai Foundation
Professor Dr. Teera Ramasoota, the chairman of Raj Pracha Samasai Foundation under the Royal Patronage of the H.M. the King, as the chair person of the press conference, announced the Bangkok Triathlon and Duathlon 2011 Competition to celebrate the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King’s 7th cycle and 84th birthday anniversary, together with Mr. Nava Chantanasurakon, Vice President of Sahaviriya Steel Industry Co.,Ltd. and other mail sponsors.
The event will be on July 10, 2011 aims to raise funds for contribution to Raj Pracha Samasai Foundation’s charity programs for leprosy patients and children whose parents have been affected by HIV virus. The winner of the individual male and female will receive the Royal Trophy.
Participants may choose to enter the competition as part of a team relay or can also opt to compete individually. In both circumstances competitors will undergo a 1.84km swim along the Chao Phraya River, 55km bike towards the top of the Borommarajchachonnani elevated expressway (2 rounds), and a 10km run in Suan Luang Rama VIII Park (3 rounds).
Mr. Nava Chantanasurakon, Vice President — Public Affairs and Social Responsibility of SSI, one the main sponsors of the event, said “This is so great honor of SSI to take part in this auspicious occasion of H.M. the King, and also support the Raj Pracha Samasai Foundation to help vulnerable people which is in line with the company’s business philosophy. This is also meaningful relation between triathlon which is a tough sport of persons called as steel man, and SSI which is the largest integrated steel sheet manufacturer in ASEAN. Besides collaboration on organizing the event, Team Sahaviriya comprised of the top executives, managers, and staff will enter this competition too.”
2 Triathletes of Team Sahaviriya joined the press conference event. Mr.Kittikorn Yambang said “Even though we are voluntary triathletes, we have practiced well enough and are so sure that can meet everyone at the finish line.” Mr.Christophe Lamon said “We are pleased to participate in this very challenging Bangkok Triathlon competition. This will ensure and prove our fighting spirit which is one of SSI’s core values.”
