Background
This project aims to develop a carbon footprint calculator for food, “FOODprint?”,provided inputs from 40 agriculture & food companies to support a wider application ofcarbon footprinting and labelling in the Thai food industry for climate change mitigation aswell as to facilitate trade between Thailand and the EU.
The “FOODprint?” project is implemented by Kasetsart University (KU) with 2 projectpartners (The Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment (JGSEE) and theFederation of Thai Industries (FTI)) and 3 project associates (Board of Trade, Thailand(BOT), National Food Institute (NFI), and Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management (PublicOrganisation), (TGO)). The EU contributes ?399,345 to this project accounting for 80% ofthe project's total budget.
The EU funds the FOODprint? project through its Thailand-EU Cooperation Facility.This programme supports EU-Thai constructive dialogues and aims at enhancing thecapacity of both the private and public sector to achieve Thailand's nationaldevelopment targets.
