Bangkok--10 Jun--dusitD2 baraquda pattaya
dusitD2 baraquda pattaya together with DiveCafe.net, Nature Explorer Magazine and over 30 volunteered scuba divers released 100 baby clownfish (Nemo) into the water at Koh Rin, Pattaya to celebrate the World Oceans Day 2011. The event aimed to increase the awareness of the importance of the world’s ocean in people’s daily lives by showing people in the community ways to improve their impact on the ocean.
Due to a highly successful innovative ocean conservation initiative “The Release of baby clownfish to their Home Reefs” held last year on the World Oceans Day by a small boutique hotel, dusitD2 baraquda pattaya, the project became the winner of the ASEANTA Awards of Excellence 2011 in the category of Best ASEAN Conservation Effort. Once again, this year the hotel will continue taking steps to protect the oceans.
In addition to the “baby clownfish releasing activity” dusitD2 baraquda pattaya also will host a spectacular underwater photo exhibition showcasing some amazing underwater shots taken by Thailand`s number 1 underwater photographer Mr. Nat Samoontamee.
The initiatives above are intended not only to encourage people in the community, especially Pattaya, to think about what the ocean means to them and what it has to offer all of us with hopes of conserving it for present and the future generations but also to remind everyone to act as a caretaker of our oceans by making small modifications to our everyday habits that greatly benefit our oceans.
This innovative CSR campaign shows how dusitD2 baraquda pattaya, as a small organization, does more than provide customers with innovative & creative quality products/services. It shows the practical realities of the hotel's global commitment and how it plays a key role in the community in which it operates.
As Michael Ganster, General Manager of dusitD2 baraquda pattaya said “It’s the second year of this iniative and we will continue taking steps in improving our Oceans. This activity makes us proud of our contribution in this field as the Ocean plays a major part in our hotel design and we are thus able to link our unique character with ocean related CSR initiatives such as this project. We will strive to maintain our leadership role in this sphere."
