ScreenSingapore will debut a brand-new international cinema event featuring the Asian Short Film Awards judged by legendary director, Oliver Stone. This spectacular movie industry festival marks an important entry for ScreenSingapore into the diary of the cinema world, and will also premiere the much-lauded new feature film, Larry Crowne, co-written by two-time Academy Award winner Tom Hanks, starring alongside Academy Award winner Julia Roberts. Workshops will feature Ashok Amritraj, CEO of Hyde Park Entertainment, who is responsible for bringing to us movies such as Premonition (Sandra Bullock) and Original Sin (Angelina Jolie), in his “Art of Film Producing” workshop. The week-long showcase will open on 5 June, finishing on 12 June, at Capella Singapore on Sentosa Island
ScreenSingapore offers industry buyers, sellers, producers and creative talent from all over the world a platform to exchange ideas, discover business opportunities and demonstrate their products and concepts. This exciting new global event will spotlight creative and technical innovations by establishing a new trade and technology market, show Asia Pacific and regional premieres of upcoming Asian and US Studio releases, in addition to offering an array of conferences, masterclasses and workshops.
The Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) has worked in partnership with Singapore Airshow and Events Pte Ltd to deliver this programme, supported by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB).

The opening Red Carpet Gala Premiere will kick off an exciting week of brand new releases at ScreenSingapore. Capella Singapore on Sentosa Island plays host to the film industry’s newest and most exciting international showcase, with a star-studded programme of events, presentations and networking opportunities.

In Conversation with Shekhar Kapur, Red Carpet Gala Premiere
Academy Award-winning director Shekhar Kapur will discuss his film-making journey, his views on narrative and the differences between producing films for East and West.
Tuesday 7 June
Expo, Film Finance Forum, In Conversation with Yong Mun Chee, Red Carpet Gala Premiere
Winston Baker, a global producer of film finance conferences, will introduce the inaugural Film Finance Forum at Capella Resort on Sentosa Island, which aims to provide strategies for continued growth in the region, with a focus on co-production opportunities and finance options.
Wednesday 8 June
Expo, WIPO Masterclass, The Australia & Singapore Experience on BAIT 3D, Red Carpet Gala Premiere
WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) discusses negotiating and closing co-production agreements in its exclusive Masterclass. There will also be a presentation entitled “A Successful Partnership in 3D Production”, emphasising the importance of this new facet to the film medium.
Thursday 9 June
Expo, In Conversation with Greg Coote & Sanford Panitch, In Conversation with Kelvin Tong, Red Carpet Gala Premiere
Greg Coote was CEO for Dune Entertainment, which co-financed the highest-grossing film of all time; Avatar. Joining him will be Sanford Pitch, President of Fox International Productions. They will discuss the production of films with a view to achieving international sales success.

Student Workshop, In Conversation with Michael J Werner & Daniel Yun, The Art of Film Producing, Red Carpet Gala Premiere
Michael J Werner is a 30-year veteran of international film sales and consulting. Together with Daniel Yun (founder and CEO of Homerun Asia), they will be discussing the effect of macro factors on the film distribution chain and marketing environment.
Saturday 11 June
Student Workshop, Press Conference, Closing Red Carpet Gala Premiere
The final Red Carpet Gala Premiere will feature the headlining “Larry Crowne,” a brand new feature film co-written by and co-starring Tom Hanks. There will also be a co-located Charity Ball, entitled “The Art of Giving,” which will round off this thrilling week of glamour, growth and innovation.
