New and unknown threats emerge everyday in the Internet landscape. Businesses have long been a target for cyber attacks and the loss of critical and sensitive information through multiple communications channels including email, instant messaging and the web. Cloud computing services have proven to be an effective means of protection for businesses as they guard against disruptive threats such as viruses, Trojans, spam and spyware, without causing disruption to business operations.
“Thailand is one of the fastest growing markets in the Southeast Asian region in terms of Internet penetration and infocomm technology. Many foreign businesses are setting up regional offices in the country and cybercriminals will be looking to launch their attacks on any business that remains unprotected. We believe that Symantec.cloud’s offerings will effectively meet the growing and changing needs of businesses within the emerging Thai market,” said Nigel Mendonca, Symantec.cloud’s regional director for Asia.
“It is an honor and a challenge for us to be appointed Symantec.cloud’s distributor in Thailand. As the concept of cloud computing is relatively new, we will start by focusing on educating our targeted business partners and end users on the merits of cloud computing through collaboration with Symantec. Users’ perception of cloud computing will be changed and its benefits like faster performance, efficiency and reduced total cost of ownership will be impressed upon. We are confident that with a consolidated effort in our messaging, the decision for users to choose cloud computing will be an easy one,” said Somsak Pejthaveeporndej, president of The Value Systems.
