1Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival takes place from 15th June — 31st August. Malaysia’s sale campaign has contributed significantly to the growing number of tourist arrivals each year. In 2010, tourist arrivals were recorded at 24.6 million, compared to the 23.7 million in 2009. Tourist receipts registered at RM56.5 billion in 2010 and of this amount, 28.7% or RM16.2 million was contributed by the shopping element.
