Hotel’s new meeting packages designed to conserve the environment while enhancing meetings through, recycled, organic and energy-efficient options
Conrad Bangkok is rolling out new ‘Meet Green’ meetings package options that match the desire of meeting planners for innovative ways to reduce energy consumption and have efficient meetings at the same time.
“We are committed to energy efficient operations and the highest levels of service,” said Vincent Mercurio, general manager, Conrad Bangkok. “We have studied the meeting environment carefully to identify areas in which more sustainable practices could be implemented to reduce carbon footprint without compromising the quality of the meeting experience.”
The three new ‘Meet Green’ options (based on minimum 20 persons) are:
1. Full Day Meeting Package: inclusive of two coffee breaks and one lunch Baht 1,500++ per person
2. Half Day Meeting Package: inclusive of one coffee break and one lunch Baht 1,200++ per person
3. Half Day Meeting: inclusive of one coffee break Baht 800++ per person
For a start, attendees will find their way to Conrad’s market-leading meeting rooms with the aid of new low-energy digital signage. In the function room, they will find recycled note pads and flipcharts utilizing recycled paper. Traditional wooden backdrops have also been replaced by projection backdrops and LED bulbs replace traditional ones.
The overall energy consumption of the function room is controlled and tailored according to individual meeting requirements. “With each ‘Meet Green’ package we will be able to calculate your carbon footprint saving using the LightStay Meeting Impact Calculator,” says Mercurio. Clients can use the impact data from Hilton Worldwide’s proprietary sustainability measurement system in their own sustainability reporting.
The amount of linen typically used on chairs and tabletops has been visibly reduced, and individually bottled water for delegates is now a thing of the past, too.
A treat awaits those taking advantage of the packages including lunch. “A large range of organic food and beverage items are also included, all 100% locally sourced,” explains Mercurio. Conrad Bangkok has partnered with a local organic farm to offer healthier and vegetarian options on most menus, too.
The lunch packages also offer flexibility in how lunch is taken: as a working lunch ‘as you go’ in the meeting room, or as an international buffet in a private function room if there are at least 40 participants.
Conrad Bangkok is certified as a smoke-free hotel by Green Leaf Foundation and is a member of Expedia.com Green Hotel program, and Travelocity’s Green Hotel Directory for eco-hotels.
