From 1st August, 2011, VIE 39 will host regular live jazz sessions with talented local and international musicians. Jazz lovers can chill out in cool contemporary surroundings while listening to smooth tunes, sounds of musicality, enjoying quality modern wines, ice cold beers and creative cocktails with our signature services and pleasurable hospitality.
Every week after dark, talented musicians and invited special guests will light up the night with the soulful sounds of sax, trumpet, guitar, piano, as well as angle-like voice. Whether you want to network with style or simply hang out with friends and enjoy the music, the Sax Society at VIE 39 will add a touch of class and funk to your evening.
The line-up includes Thailand’s top jazz star, Koh Mr. Saxman, respected trumpeter, the gifted singer Fangkhaw, the Jazz Project, the infamous Fon from Monotone and Lookwah from Doo ba Doo, a top D.J. spinning jazz ranging from classics, funky to modern, and more.
A highlight of VIE 39’s jazz soir?es will be regular performances by Koh Mr. Saxman and Fangkhaw. Regarded as one of Thailand’s top musicians, Koh Mr. Saxman is the recipient of numerous awards and has performed in over ten different countries and recorded five solo albums. He has also performed on hundreds of records, films, television shows and commercial jingles. In 2003 he won the prize for the “Best Instrumental Song of the Year” with his song “Rush Hour” from his first album “Mr. Saxman.”
Gifted vocalist, Fangkhaw enjoys admiration from the audience wherever she sings. A graduate from Silpakorn University’s Faculty of Music, she is recognised as one of the country rising stars of the jazz scene.
On Monday to Tuesday nights, catch the RA Trio featuring Fangkao on vocals. The talented threesome performs the first set from 21:30-22:45 hours and the second set from 23:15-24:30 hours.
On Wednesday to Thursday nights, Koh Mr. Saxman gets expressive with his sax from 21:30-24:30 hours. The artistic sensation will be accompanied by the Takeshi Band featuring the infamous Fon from Monotone and Lookwah from Doo ba Doo.
On Friday and Saturday ends the week with Thailand’s up and coming jazz stars when The Jazz Project by students from the College of Music takes to the stage from 19:30-21:00 hours. Later, Hank the Groove literally gets into the groove from 21:30-22:30 and 23:00-24:30 hours.
Sunday nights at VIE 39 are seriously laidback with a D.J. spinning your favourite jazz tunes from 20:00-24:00 hours.
